She was built at Vigo by Barreras in 1956. In 1972 she was bought by Compañía Técnica de Gestión Naval and sunk on 31/December/1977 close to Dakar, during a trip Banjul-Las Palmas.

On this photo at Villagarcía de Arosa, on the left was the Meira or her sister ship Tiran. Berthed from left to right were Rio Mero, Monte Espadan and one of the "Valerianos".
